Upgrade to Team when your workspace needs more than the single owner seat that Free provides, or when you want to add teammates as agents. Upgrading moves your workspace from 1 agent seat to 5 included seats for $10 per month or $90 per year. See Plans and pricing overview for the full price breakdown.
Start checkout
- Sign in to
{slug}.essential.supportas the workspace owner — only the owner role can open Billing. - Click the gear icon in the top toolbar, then select Billing.
- On the Free plan card, use the Monthly / Yearly toggle to choose your billing cadence. Yearly shows a “Save 25%” badge next to it.
- Confirm the price shown below the toggle ($10 per month or $90 per year) and the note “Includes 5 agents (1 owner + 4).”
- Click Upgrade to Team.
- A window titled “Upgrade to Team” opens as a modal over the page — this is Stripe’s embedded checkout form, not a separate browser tab. Enter your card details and billing address directly in that form and submit payment there.
- After payment, the modal closes and the Billing page shows “Finalizing your subscription…” while Essential Support confirms the new subscription. This normally takes only a few seconds — don’t close the window while it’s showing.
- Once confirmed, you’ll see a “Subscription active.” message and the page switches to the Team plan view, showing your seat usage and renewal date.
After you upgrade
Your workspace immediately has 5 agent seats to use. Add teammates from Settings → Agents. If you later need more than 5 seats, or want fewer, see Add or remove agent seats. You can also switch between monthly and yearly billing at any time from the Billing page without starting a new checkout — the “Manage billing” area on the Team plan view has a “Switch to yearly billing” / “Switch to monthly billing” button for that.
Edge cases
- If your browser blocks the checkout form (a script or ad blocker), you’ll see “The payment form couldn’t load. Turn off any script blockers and try again” instead of the payment fields.
- If activation hasn’t finished after about 40 seconds, the page shows “Payment received — your subscription is still activating. Refresh in a moment.” Refreshing the Billing page usually picks up the confirmed subscription.
- If your workspace already has an active Team subscription, starting a new checkout is refused with “You already have an active Team plan.”
- Upgrading requires the owner role. Admins and agents who need Team features should ask the workspace owner to complete the upgrade.
