Why set a brand name
By default, the top bar of your support portal shows your workspace’s name — the name you chose when you signed up. If you’d rather show a different, customer-facing name there — without necessarily uploading a logo — you can set a dedicated brand name that overrides it.
The brand name only appears when you haven’t uploaded a logo. If a logo is present, the logo image replaces the text entirely (see Upload your logo).
Set your brand name
- Click the gear icon in the top bar to open Settings.
- In the left-hand navigation, click Branding. The section opens on its Branding sub-tab by default — you don’t need to click anything else.
- Find the Brand name field near the top of the page. Its helper text reads: “Shown in the header when there’s no logo. Leave blank to use your workspace name.”
- Type the name you want customers and agents to see. The field accepts up to 60 characters. While it’s empty, the field shows the placeholder text “Your workspace name” as a preview of what will display.
- Click Save name.
- A “Saved” confirmation appears, and the header wordmark updates immediately everywhere in the app — no page reload needed.
Notes and edge cases
- If you’ve uploaded a logo, the brand name field still saves, but it won’t be visible in the header until the logo is removed — the logo always takes priority.
- Clearing the field and saving restores the default: your workspace’s name is shown instead.
- The 60-character limit is enforced in the input itself — typing further simply stops accepting characters.
